10mm breaks in within weeks, is more comfortable off the floor, and is enough belt for most lifters under 100kg. 13mm is the stiffest wall we build — 3–4 weeks of break-in, and worth it if you are chasing max singles. Neither is the compromise; they are different tools.
Measure at your navel, standing relaxed — not your trouser size, which usually runs 2–3 inches smaller. Use the tape above or the full size chart. Between sizes? Go up — a lever belt adjusts in, never out.
10mm starts feeling natural within a few sessions and is fully broken in within weeks. 13mm takes 3–4 weeks of honest training. Vegetable-tanned leather moulds to your body and then holds that shape for years.
